Pointe Area Assistive Transportation Services (PAAT) is a service for seniors and people with disabilities. It’s run by the HELM, funded with federal dollars. It provides much needed door to door transportation services for medical appointments, shopping, etc. Although these buses travel outside of the boundaries of our community into Macomb and parts of Detroit, the funding is specifically for the Grosse Pointes and Harper Woods. Services such as Uber and Lift are costly and often not accessible for travelers with disabilities. Our communities also share school districts and other partnerships. My hope is that they can share important legislative influence as well!
