Community Information

transportation housing healthcare diversity mental health

My rural community is made of people who are proud to call this their home. And we care about the well-being of each other. Due to the pandemic, many people socialize via social media, and keep up with local happenings by reading the paper or watching local tv broadcasts. We are happy to have Memorial Hospital, a newly renovated public library, and other great amenities as we welcome both residents and visitors alike to enjoy our Southern hospitality in the home of the Vidalia Onion.

Historically my community is rich in industry, and agriculture. However, it is best known worldwide for the famous Vidalia Onion.

The economy is great with many growing businesses that are presently in need of employees. And the environmental issues associated with being very near a Georgia Power nuclear plant are of constant concern to all who live here.

The community needs higher paid jobs. Better jobs will serve as an attraction to keep graduating students and local talent from seeking employment and opportunities elsewhere. The community also wants to be kept together and not to be broken apart during the Redistricting process.
