My community comprises colleges, churches, restaurants, and local nonprofit organizations catering to seniors and children.
My community is very diverse. There are many different religious groups, and food eateries to cater to specific community needs, such as Halal and many Kosher shops and markets.
My community is comprised of many parks and recreational centers and sports fields. Some residents are groundskeepers for the parks and baseball coaches. There are also 2 big hospitals in my community and many of the residents work in the medical field. There are growing concerns about the number of food pantries needed and homeless people in the neighborhood. The rise of unemployment has been an issue since the onset of Covid to now.
There is a need for more transportation in the community. It's difficult to get to trains and to other areas of the NYC boroughs. The trains are a far distance from the residential areas and so are the buses.
