Your response: The Dupont State Park - southern Pisgah National Forest Recreation area is the critical mainstay of the region's tourism industry. Our local shops, hotels, and restaurants are dependent on the environmental health of these two areas. A piecemeal set of overlapping and sometimes contradictory regulations risk over-development and ruin. With the rest of Pisgah, the Great Smokies, and Nantahala National Forest to the west, the future of this entire western region of the state depends on wise management and protection of these resources.
