Community Information

climate LGBT+ housing crime environment

Overlook is made up of both homeowners and renters who are major parts of both the midtown and downtown community. The Columbus Museum and the cultural centers in downtown Columbus are where many people gather.

Many of Overlook's buildings and homes are now considered historical and are quite old, especially for Columbus, therefore historic preservation has been a major issue for us.

Aflac and the big downtown companies are where a majority of people in the neighborhood are employed

Like with all of Columbus, crime, education, pollution, and traffic are major concerns. However, our area is also prone to microbursts- extremely small thunderstorms- that have caused significant damage to the area, so disaster relief is a major concern as well. The last big one downed trees took out electricity and phone lines and did major damage to the neighborhood and surrounding areas.
