My community is mainly comprised of Guyanese and Trinidadian people, specifically of Indo-Caribbean descent in South Ozone Park. There are generally other South Asian and Caribbean groups scattered throughout as well as a huge Punjabi population in nearby Richmond Hill.

My community is very close to JFK airport which supplies a lot of jobs. There is also a huge population of home health aide and service industry workers.

My community is located in the very South Eastern part of Queens and can often feel left out of decisions to do with the city as a whole. We need a lot more representation from people who understand and know how to navigate our unique culture and are willing and ready to support us and make our way of life more manageable by connecting us better with transportation etc. to other parts of the city. Our biggest issues are lack of subway access which leads us to dependency on cars which can also be frustrating since our biggest access points are the Vanwyck Expressway and the Belt Parkway which are constantly traffic jammed and under construction which we never see the finished product
