I usually socialize with my neighbors when I see them on walks; we don't have a park that is super close. Many of the neighborhood kids play/ride scooters in a parking lot next to my house. One of the houses plays music on Saturday nights from outside speakers, lots of friends and family join them. It's very residential so we don't have a ton right in the neighborhood. There are a few buses that pick up right at the corner of my street and the commuter rail is better accessed by car or bike (I normally bike to the Andover station to save a buck). The Greater Lawrence Community Health Center is very close to us on 114, a few of my neighbors got vaccinated there... Lawrence general is far but

We have lots of families here, I see lots of small kids (under 12 and a few under 6) Some are retired, a few are unemployed. Two of my neighbors work in the non-profit sector. One is in hospitality (works at a hotel). A few are in retail. One is a factory worker. My partner is a dogwalker and I'm underemployed / do a lot of volunteer work right now. One of my neighbors is special needs and goes to a day program to work.

Our neighborhood went through the gasfires together, and now the pandemic.Longer term, I believe that many of the single family homes were built by the same architect as workforce housing for people working in factories in Lawrence. Those houses are very similar and mainly across South Broadway from where I live.My main concern is natural gas, due to our experience with the gas fires here. I worry about its effects on health as well as the possibility of another disaster. And our reliance on fossil fuels. Another concern I have is tree cover and its effect on temperatures. Litter is pretty bad here and that worries me because it blocks the drains when we have heavy rain and the street

Language access. More farmers' markets/access to produce. We have a lot of children and families here who would benefit from more outdoor spaces and gardens. Rent control/rent assistance. More opportunities to buy apartments rather than rent (most apartments are exclusively for renters, but condo ownership could be a step for many to stay in Lawrence longer-term who may not want the responsibility/cost burden of a whole house).
