Community Information

My community is made up of CDC, Emory, Toco Hills Shopping Center (convenient!), multiple churches along Clairmont / North Druid Hills / Briarcliff Rd, lots of tree canopies, restaurants, Emory Point, many elementary and highschools, Mason Mill and WD Thompson Park, Intown Community Church, retirement communities, a nearby synagogue and a robust Jewish community. We live in a community of elderly persons, college students, and professionals as well as teachers.

Jewish communities, Christian communities, Ethiopian restaurants, Indian restaurants and grocery stores, elderly, but also student and mid career professionals.

Preserve the tree canopies!!! Recently, a large portion of trees were cut down on Clairmont Road (between N Druid Hills and N Decatur Road) to build townhomes. It was a huge blow to the natural feel of the neighborhood. .

We love our tree canopies and how it creates shaded walking spaces. Further overcrowding the area creates way too much traffic in an already busy street. Betweeen where I live and where I go t work, the neighborhood becomes less white and more minority and the resources do not seem to be evenly distributed as these demographics change. Once Briarcliff changes to Moreland, there becomes less tree canopies, more fast food restaurants, less well kept side walks and liquor stores / pawn shops and less schools / recreational space.
