My community's economy is based almost completely on tourism. We desperately need to attract other types of businesses to our area, without sacrificing our small-town character or our local environment, natural, or historical resources. We need a more diverse workforce and affordable housing for them to live in. We need to protect what makes our town special, beautiful, and a good place to raise a family, while inviting innovative new private businesses and public sector jobs to establish themselves here. We can have economic diversity and prosperity while protecting the reasons people want to live here. We can do both. The future is in sustainability, green incentives, and education.
