Community Information

Jewel Osco, the one grocery store in what used too be a food desert, The University of Chicago is closeby, the library needs investment, the parks are unique and some of the best in the world, close to the lake, a lot of churches, little access to healthcare, public transit is good, and so are the local non profits.

Woodlawn is a treasure trove of history and is easily one of the most influential neighborhoods in America

My community is robust! it features access to the Greenline, the university of Chicago, and is walking distance to Museums, parks & the lakefront. However there isn't a bank or a fitness center in the entire neighborhood.

We need more businesses. There isn't a bank in the ward, that means limited development, limited loans and desolate areas where a thriving community is growing but stunted by a lack of loans.
