Our main activities: outdoors! Hiking, horseback riding, golfing, off-roading, cycling, and/or motorcycling. Many horse properties throughout this area, plus parks and undeveloped land for recreating. Shopping: mainly from Cave Creek & Carefree west & south down to Norterra, south to Desert Ridge near the 101 and down Scottsdale Rd to Mayo Blvd & Bell Rd. We go to movie theaters & restaurants in Norterra, Desert Ridge, or on Bell Rd & Mayo Blvd. Healthcare: most all of our doctors, dog vets, horse vets, & healthcare services are in this COI. Virtually no public transportation in this COI. Cave Creek is an entertainment destination for many in this COI & beyond.

Much of this COI lives among the saguaros, javelinas, and wildlife that are unique to this part of the country. They matter to us personally. As do our horses - they are part of our lives (even for those who don't own them) and certainly part of our heritage. There are ancient ruins, abandoned mines, and still the feel of the desert which is largely lost as you go south of this COI. On the flip side, we consider ourselves part of the broader Phoenix metropolitan area, interested in the Valley's news and enjoying access to all its amenities yet able to live daily in our own slightly-rural world.

Economic: almost all economic needs/interests are met within this COI. Those in the north all go south and west for 95% of goods and services but to go south beyond Bell Rd seems just "too far" for most things. Environmental Interests: Many of us spend much time outdoors and are keenly aware of environmental and climate change issues because we have experienced the changes directly and constantly over the last 10-20 years. We are concerned about the future for our animals, our outdoor activities, even our saguaros and desert wildlife among which we live.

Fires - a constant concern. Strong horse community here from all over this COI to help each other evacuate horses - this is needed almost every year. Water - many on wells or hauled water. Most of this COI is zero-scaped or undeveloped. Diversity - The northern & southern parts of this COI need each other for diversity in age, race, ethnicity, and politics. Competitiveness - NONE in the northern parts of this COI. Northern Dems in this COI have not had any chance at being represented in the 17 years I've lived here. Absolutely no shared interests with Anthem or Yavapai County - with whom the northern parts of this COI are enslaved together in one Legislative District. Please fix this!
