Community Information

gentrification schools housing voting rights outdoor activities

Our community is characterized by gentrification and income-inequality. The neighborhood was once considered a relatively inexpensive neighborhood with single-family houing near the urban core, which drew tons of young, middle-class to upper-middle-class families. These families, largely white, began displacing the lower-income black residents over a decade ago, a process that continues still.
