Your response: My precinct is one half of Uptown Charlotte (the main street Tryon St decides the two Uptown precincts - my precinct, Precinct 13 encompasses the east side of uptown and includes the historic African American neighborhood, Brooklyn. Precinct 11 is the westside of Tryon in Uptown Charlotte. Tryon runs North and South). The African American neighborhood of Brooklyn was subject extreme gentrification and the community moved entirely. My side of Uptown has all of the business hotels, the major transportation hub, all the major Charlotte/Mecklenburg County governmental buildings and the Charlotte right rail stations in Uptown. It also includes new mid-rise and hi-rise apartments and condos

  - If there are environmental concerns in your community, what are they?

Examples of economic or environmental interests: Tourism industry, agricultural workers, mining town, manufacturing center, polluted natural resource, unemployment problem, etc.

Your response: The business side of uptown is mostly in Precinct 11 on the westside of Tryon Street. Headquarters for companies like Honeywell Bank of America and critical locations for Duke Energy and Wells Fargo on are on or right off of Tryon. It is this area that makes Charlotte a major corporate and banking center.

Examples of needs or concerns: Keep community in the same district or separate into multiple districts, shared policy concerns, need for a social service, relationship to other nearby communities, issues with current district lines

Your response: This major economic development does not include appear to include many Charlotte residents, especially BIPOC populations.
