My community lacks activities for its residents. Activities that are recreational, and educational are very much needed. The youth need platforms where they can express themselves and use their creative energy. Adults need programs that educate them, English as a second language courses, financially literacy courses for both adults and children.
My community is primarily made up of Dominican, Puerto Rican and Mexican people. Spanish is the dominant language amongst the adults and English amongst the children. Catholic religion is the main religion.
My community is being affected by gentrification. Families are being bought out of their homes. New Businesses are not representative of the people and are very expensive.
My community is in need of financial literacy courses, affordable healthy foods, free English as a second language course, citizenship courses.
