My diverse community is made of people who have a shared faith in God, a concentrated focus on education for themselves, their children and for others, and people who are involved in community outreach. We are a forward thinking community and we strive to make what we presently have, much better. We seek progress and improvement is all aspects of our living.
Culturally, we are a mixture of various cultures that include African Americans, Whites, and Hispanics.
Presently our economy suffers for a lack of workers. It is possible that the low pay being offered for the work required is serving as an obstacle for people who wish to become gainfully employed.
The needs of my community are many. However, to name a few: Family Life Center, Battered Women's Shelter, and Low Income Housing. I must add that I feel that our present district lines are fine as they are, and I do not want to see them changed through the Redistricting process.
