The Eight Virginia Congressional District, is to be a compact, contiguous area generally located “south of the Beltway” and a portion of Prince William County at I-95 and west in a compact contiguous district.

VA-08 Northern Virginia “south of the Beltway” is a suburb of Washington DC. - I frequented the Mount Vernon area as a teen, took my driver-ed at the high school, attended The Basic School at Quantico, and regularly antiqued along US-1 south of the Beltway.

Virginians here define themselves by where they went to high school, and where their children and grandchildren attend elementary, middle, and high school. - Along with communities of faith, college & pro football, professional or trade associations, and more recently politics, "school attendance zones" are the primary sources of self-identification here as alums, parents, and PTA members, for sports events, plays and concerts.
