Community Information

housing diversity crime education affordable

there is a large community of folks from the Dominican Republic as well as other Spanish speaking communities. There is a distinct pocket of white residents on the west side of Inwood, mostly making more than 100k.

Many in my community gather around churches. Another large draw in the community are the local bars and parks. We are between Fort Tryon and Inwood Hill park. The area has a large number of families with children.

My community is made up of working class and service industry people. The average income of the home owners in the area, is just under 100k, where as the average income of renters in the area is roughly 55k.

This area has a large portion of families with children. There is a large population of Spanish speaking residents. The Service industry is very prominent in the area, especially along Dykeman Street and Broadway. Police are very present and based on their presence crime is a major reported concern.
