Community Information

transportation housing education environment affordable

Park City gathers outdoors as much as possible, in our parks, at our outdoor concerts, with our dogs whenever possible. We walk/bike/skate/ski to and from as much as possible. Our free bus system is a point of pride & much depended on by our local youth as well as many in our work force. Our favorite "holiday" is LivePC, GivePC, a day dedicated to raising money for our many cherished local non-profits--the perennial favorites being Mountain Trails Foundation, Summit Land Conservancy and Nuzzles & Co (pet adoption).

Park City is has a mostly white upper class and a Latinx service class. Historic Main Street anchors the Park City identity, but most of our residents live in non-adjacent neighborhoods. As the cost of entry increases, the average age is getting older.

The economic engine of the town are our 2 ski areas & the many service/retail businesses that cater to tourists & second homeowners.

As real estate prices skyrocket, Park City's ability to retain a middle/working class is under intense pressure. Given that our economy & lifestyle are so dependent upon the outdoor environment, the threat of climate change haunts this community.
