My community consists of predominately 1-2 family homes, houses of worship, parts of the Jamaica Bay, and JFK International Airport.

This district was established more than 25 years ago to provide greater representation for the Black community. The district currently is majority Black in its demographics. There is a large afro-caribbean, english speaking community, along with a very distinct and vibrant Jewish community.

The residents within this community varies from low to upper-middle class families. There is a great deal of environmental advocacy considering Jamaica Bay and JFK Airport rest within the district.

There are many needs, including stronger infrastructure, access to trauma health facilities, to name a few.
