My diverse community is a mixture of all types of people who have varying income brackets. It was once all Black. However, the present trend is that of people moving from such high-priced areas as Buckhead coming into the neighborhood and renovating abandoned properties to bring them up to a new level. Sadly, very high fences and guard dogs indicate that these property owners are not here as real community members. The only advantage is that the surrounding property values are going up. Thanks for that.
Culturally, this was originally an all Black community with individuals exhibiting a high degree of pride in their environment. But at this time, there isn't much culture to speak of except that which is negative.
It is not easy to assess economics or environment without making it very lengthy.
My community needs more people who will express concern for where they live. I also feel that being treated fairly in the Redistricting process is essential to our survival.
