My community has a fairly newly created in the county: City of South Fulton [COSF]. We have several places of worship.
My community is made up of mostly Black constituents. Middle class, christian. We have 4 high schools, two is a STEM school and one is a performing arts school.
This area has SEVERAL/NUMEROUS warehouses in our area: Amazon, Seafood & Meat distribution center, McDonald's warehouse storage center, Clorox manufacturing facility just to name a few. We also have a major train track that runs through the City. Also we have several trucks that are coming through residential areas, 4-way stops. We have no sidewalks where they are needed.
The expansion of the warehouses without jobs for community members is concerning. There is a need for care for the elderly-- there is none and we have a huge population of elderly. Also reduction of crime. Additionally, we need recycling in the entire city and area. We lack the ability to prove that our income should attract better retailers like Sprouts, Trader Joe's or Whole Foods. We have abandoned strip malls that are sitting vacant that will become dilapidated. We also need a hospital in this area. The South Fulton County area's nearest hospital is Southern Regional [Riverdale] downtown/Fayetteville. The Lack of a hospital in this area with the population growing requires/should require
