The immigrant population in Braintree is growing. The Asian Community is currently 13.8%, and continues to grow. One contributing factor to the growing population could be attributed to the fact that many families living in Quincy tend to move towards Braintree for a more family oriented community, good schools, and convenient location. Families in Braintree and Quincy have similar values such as a good education, a focus on extracurricular activities, preserving or learning a second language, and a good environment for their children.
Braintree is also a very diverse community where immigration population is high. There are 2 Asian buddhas temples in Braintree serving the surrounding towns Asian buddisms signifying the demand and religion of the population.
Residents are employed in surrounding towns, cities, and areas and Greater Boston. Some are also employed or business owners in surrounding states such as Rhode Island. Similar to Quincy the majority of the Braintree community are blue-collar workers and part of the working class.
QARI and ACDC have expanded the civic engagement work to the Braintree area since a couple years ago, our phone banking effort had reached out to the Braintree Asian community for census 2020 and the presidential election.
