Community Information

Across the south-side, Bronzeville is becoming one of the destinations to move to. A well-to-do, and predominantly black neighborhood, Bronzeville has a core of families that make it feel like a neighborhood at the grocery store, at church, and on the street.

This neighborhood is often known as the birthplace of gospel music; the Pilgrim Baptist Church is one of the cultural centers of the neighborhood. MLK Drive is also a storied thoroughfare in the neighborhood, with several notable civil rights and musical landmarks.

Located along the lakefront, Bronzeville is blessed with amazing natural resources in the form of a public beach and extensive parkland for residents to enjoy. New infrastructure has made this more accessible than ever to pedestrians and cyclists as well.

Although there is not much gang activity in the neighborhood, opportunistic crime is still a problem.
