Because I lived by the beach, tourism is a really important industry in my community. Our economy hosts a lot of small businesses that are especially active around the summer. The hospital/medical system as well as big companies like GE and PPD hire a lot of people in my town. I would categorize the majority of my community as middle-class, and the types of neighborhoods are pretty suburban.
