Community Information

transportation healthcare Indigenous diversity education

We have lived here for 19 years and seen our community grow. We liked Our neighborhood because it is family oriented, felt safe and walking distance to a park and previously a bus stop. We were attracted to closeness to city transportation. Grocery stores are nearby and a lot of development. However, for medical primary care we must travel downtown to the Paiute clinic. We must travel to Parker AZ fir full service IHS.

My neighborhood is diverse and my kids in school were blended in with other families of color. I feel it gives them a broader world view.

Our neighborhood is in between access to major highways but along major arterial. The family income are middle class with diverse employment. We used to smell pig farm but it’s gone now.

We are in North Las Vegas and the city has responded to service requests well. We’ve not taken any issues to elected officials and not actively engaged with them but want to be. It’s exhausting re-educate elected officials on who we are as indigenous people and tribal citizens.
