My community consists of people that shop at Peachtree Mall. Before COVID we'd go to the AMC movie theatre to watch the new releases. The main higher education is done at Columbus State or Columbus Tech. There are buses that help people get around town, but the routes are mainly on the southern part of the city because the poverty level is higher there than on the north so I guess they assume that the buses need not go up our way often.
My community is diverse. Majority may be slightly white but that population is decreasing as more minorities are moving into the area, and I love that.
Most people that live in my immediate neighborhood work via military or factory type of jobs like the Walmart DC or the Kia Plant
Although I live in Columbus now, I still have ties to Marion and Webster county bc of family and friends. I frequent those areas and they are not receiving all the resources they need. High speed internet is very important and should be addressed in those areas. It's 2021 and to think that there are places in our state that don't have access to broadband is sort of insane.
