Community Information

transportation housing diversity education environment

My community uses the libraries, Davis Co. rec center, hiking and biking mountain trails, city parks, city splash pad, farmer's market, Friday food trucks, summer parades, shopping and eating on main street, and places of worship.

My community represents an increasingly diversified demographic. Young families are moving into older post-war, mid-century homes, older folks who have lived in the same homes for decades, and newer builds where more established people areliving. It is also increasingly politically diverse, our neighborhood had signs for both presidential candidates this last year. You can find pride flags and blue stripe flags on the same street.

My neighborhood is full of young working professionals, and the retired. Many of the young people work for companies outside of Bountiful, many in Salt Lake or further south. In general, I think the community values access to nature and the mountains. Access to ski resorts, bike trails, lakes, etc. are all valuable.

My community is growing quickly and the city of Bountiful is almost all out of empty land. The city will become denser in the future, and so we will need better options for transit, smart zoning practices, and maintaining a sense of community. Politically, Bountiful, and the southern end of Davis Co., in general, is increasingly purple. The young families buying older homes are more progressive and liberal than the older, more established people.
