Childcare, child education, grocery stores, shopping, parks (lots of parks, with playgrounds and a variety of activity from park to park), public transportation, transportation infrastructure, public education centers (like museums, planetarium, botanical gardens, etc.)

Education as a cultural background - more highly educated than not. Transplants, not locals.

University, research park. Air quality, clean environment in general is a huge concern when you have to take children out to play every day.

Must have clean environment, otherwise I'm leaving my husband (non-portable job) and moving my children out of here to Michigan or Vermont. Primarily, the air quality is my biggest concern, but I'm not crazy about the transportation infrastructure around here. Entirely too much traffic in neighborhoods, not enough trees and green areas interspersed. Also, not enough shopping/services interspersed in neighborhoods. More little shops and services should be interspersed inside neighborhoods to make the areas more walkable and more friendly.
