My community is made of diverse religious and ethnic groups including, Hispanic, Italian, African American, Asian, Jewish and more. The community is surrounded by various arts and cultural organizations and institutions that illustrate the history of Staten Island. These institutions include, Snug Harbor Cultural Center & Botanical Garden, Historic Richmond Town, Staten Island Museum and Garibaldi-Meucci Museum.

The Staten Island community is one of the five boroughs that resides between Brooklyn and Manhattan. This borough is often referred to as the "forgotten borough." Staten Island is underrepresented as a whole by politicians and in the news. Our biggest need is for transportation that extents throughout the boroughs. We have one train that only travels throughout some neighborhoods of Staten Island, the Staten Island Ferry that only goes to Manhattan and one bus that travels to only Bay Ridge Brooklyn.
