Community Information

I live in Carolina Arbors, an active adult (55+) community. We shop in Brier Creek, many of our healthcare providers are in Brier Creek. I belong to St Francis of Assisi Parish in Raleigh. We frequent Umstead State Park and Falls Lake Recreation Area. Our local library in East Branch in Durham. We do volunteer with local schools but do not have any school age kids in our community.

Our part of Durham County is "semi-rural". We are concerned with lack of infrastructure and the environmental impact of these new development.

We are part of Ward 2, but our councilman has a different set of interests than we do. I am concerned about over-development in our area. We were told that even though we are in Ward 2, our councilman feels that he is elected citywide. Politically our area is mixed from progressive to libertarian with a lot of UNA. REP voters are frustrated that only DEMs can win in city, state and US election. UNAs are frustrated with an overly overly progressive agenda.
