My community is comprised primarily of middle class residents that work and play in the local area. We share business, religious, educational and recreational activities with neighboring communities, some from Macomb county.
The Detroit neighborhoods that border our community are going through a renewal and renovation. Our community includes the Edsel Ford Estate, an historical landmark.
Our community is located on Lake St Clair and the Detroit River. Environmental concerns are extremely important, specifically clean water. Infrastructure is another, given the effects the lakes and river are experiencing from climate change. These waters are shipping lanes, so preventing invasive species from entering this environmentally sensitive area and combating those already here is of critical concern.
Our residents share the medical, business, religious, educational and recreational activities with our surrounding neighbors in Detroit and St Clair Shores. St Clair Shores is located in Macomb County, which borders our community on the north side. We share many concerns, such as environmental, infrastructure, medical, schools and public transportation.
