My community is made of people who either retired or working. While there is very little social interaction, we are a group of individuals that will respond to each other's need when necessary. We have a history of caring for one another.
My community is surrounded by many historical Black and White churches that date back to over 150 years past. We take pride in the fact that many of the present day members are descendants of the founders.
Economically, this is not the area to search for a well paying job. There are few businesses in the county and that equals few jobs. And the jobs that are available, they come with a very low pay. In order to get a decent job that has a good pay along with benefits, residents must travel far distances
My community needs more commerce. Along with that, it needs more unity. I am ok with the way our districts are right now and hope that Redistricting will not create new mapping that is unfair.
