Community Information

healthcare voting rights elderly environment affordable

My community is made up of people who have lived in this area for many years. I am 96 years old and feel that the best socializing is done in the church and at family gatherings. A pool was recently installed at the The Lunetta Moore Center and we hope this will be a safe recreational resource for our families. Presently, we have a community that is on its way to being revitalized. Many properties had been neglected, and now the city is working on a restoration plan for all of the run down houses. It will be good to see our community looking like it used to.

Many of our residents are seniors who have seen a lot of change in our community. Children were raised here who have gone one to college or other training and now are positive members of other communities. Historically, we have always looked out for each other.

There are many opportunities for employment near my community. However, I cannot note any environmental issues.

Leaders should know that our community is one of people who have shared Christian values along with shared political concerns. We want to have fair representation and know that our vote will count. That is why we ask for fair mapping in the Redistricting process.
