The area around the Phoenix Light Rail system in downtown Phoenix should not be broken up into two different legislative districts (currently in D1 and D11.) The people and businesses surrounding light rail all have a strong interest in maintaining and promoting the success of public transportation, and should have a unified voice for this perspective in the legislature.

There is a large community of people living along the Phoenix Light Rail system who rely on public transportation to get to work, school, the airport, and more. This community includes disabled people who are unable to use other forms of transportation including a car.
