Community Information

transportation LGBT+ housing mental health suburban

My community is made of neighbors and parents whose children go to the local elementary and junior high schools. We enjoy shopping, dining, and enjoying the outdoors in our small town.

We have a short history but tend to enjoy local summer festivals, our tiny public library, and local parks and playgrounds.

Some of our residents work in local tech companies. Most residents commute to work on busy roads. We are concerned about lack of public transportation, state roads running through our city (conflict of interest, city can't change traffic patterns), and sustainable growth (water, pipes, roads).

Our community is separate from most of Utah County, divided by Utah Lake, I-15, and a growing Lehi. We relate to Bluffdale (we share a police department) and Herriman to the north, as we commute a lot on their roads, and we relate to neighboring Eagle Mountain, with whom we share schools. We struggle to relate to the rest of Alpine School District, as our weather patterns often differ, especially in the winter, from cities on the east bench.
