Danger: REPORT Aug. 24, 2021
climate seasonal employment education hiking forest
Cultural or Historical Interests
Our community is tied together by being responsible to the environment so we can continue to enjoy it.
Community Activities and Services
My community is made up of people who love to get outside, hike, bike and ski. We need our outside places preserved.
Economic or Environmental Interests
My community has conflicting economic interests; development versus preservation. Real estate and skiing are the main industries here.
Community Needs and Concerns
My ski community is sliced into four or five largely rural ranching and oil and gas dependent districts who have no interest in our goals, and in fact fight against them.

Danger: REPORT Aug. 20, 2021
housing voting rights environment affordable
Cultural or Historical Interests
My community (central Wayne County including the communities of Teasdale, Torrey, Capitol Reef National Park) share a common interest in the conservation and protection of the surrounding landscape, including Capitol Reef National Park, Boulder Mountain, the San Rafael Swell, and Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. To a significant degree, these interests are not shared by the residents of other areas of Wayne County.
Community Activities and Services
My community consists of all the residents of the residents of Wayne County living in the area between the Red Gate (west of Torrey) and the eastern boundary of Capitol Reef National Park. The residents of this area are focused on recreational opportunities in the area surrounding Capitol Reef National Park, and on the conservation of the surrounding landscape.
Economic or Environmental Interests
The economic engine of my community (Teasdale, Torrey, Capitol Reef National Park) is tourism and visitor services. Revenues generated by these activities, and by property taxes paid by residents of this area, are the economic pillar of the entire county. A major problem for my community is the lack of affordable housing (or any housing) for workers in the tourism sector. However, political power is centered in the communities of the Upper Valley (Loa, Fremont, Bicknell, Lyman) where agriculture and ranching are viewed as the only proper lifestyles for county residents. As a result of this division, the interests of my community, central Wayne County, are generally ignored.
Community Needs and Concerns
Voting districts for the county commissioners need to be changed to ensure that at least one county commissioner is elected from my community, central Wayne County. For many decades, all county commissioners have been elected from the Upper Valley communities.

transportation renewable resources housing environment water
Economic or Environmental Interests
My community is located in western Utah but near the Wasatch Front. There is pressure to add more housing to ease the housing shortage on the Wasatch Front, but water availability is an significant concern since this is the driest part of the state. There are also two Army posts and the Utah Test and Training Range in this area that employ a lot of residents. The state's largest polluter is also in this area.

Community Needs and Concerns
My community is situated by itself in a valley and is arbitrarily split into two congressional districts. The needs of my community are unique to the region and our district should represent the entire community.

Danger: REPORT April 5, 2021
Economic or Environmental Interests
My community is located in a region once dominated by mineral extraction. It sets itself apart as a community of interest, as opposed to surrounding communities, because it has embraced tourism and the art industry as new economic drivers.
