Our community includes many of new families like us who have recently moved into newly built subdivisions in the area. There are also a ton of older residents, like my mother-in-law, who have lived in the area for many years.
Community Activities and Services
My son plays basketball at Welcome All Park and we often visit the Wolf Creek Library. For grocery shopping we visit the Publix on Carmen Drive on weekends or the Publix at Princeton Lakes for quick weekday trips. We also eat, shop and play at the Shops at Hampton Oaks, Parkway Village, Princeton Lakes Shopping Center, and St James Live located near Camp Creek Blvd and Butner Road.
Economic or Environmental Interests
We moved to the area because it was less congested vs communities farther north. We like the suburban feel. That being said we wouldn't mind more residential-focused development like shopping, restaurants, entertainment and more walking paths and sidewalks. Our main concern is increased development for warehousing. There are quite a few warehouses not far from our home and we'd love to see less of that and more family-oriented development.

Our biggest concern is residential-focused development. More walking paths and sidewalks because of the added traffic in the area. More grocery stores, shopping and recreation please.

This is a working class community and people who are seeking employment are finding it even if they have to travel a distance to get to it.

My community needs are those of being treated fairly in redistricting. We want to be treated fairly, because whichever way it goes, we will have to live with the results for the next 10 years. I for one want to see my community obtain progress, not have a decline in resources that will affect me and my family.

My immediate community has no economic or environmental interest to mention. However, Savannah is home to a very large tourist industry, colleges, hospitals, transport companies, the Georgia Ports and many private industries where locals find gainful employment.

What my community needs at this time is to be treated fairly in the Redistricting process. We do not want to be broken apart in order to benefit any particular ruling political party. We love our community and we want to see it grow.

With this being home to a university, a couple colleges, and trade schools, people living here either temporarily or permanently have come from many far away states, or even foreign countries. It has many beautiful places to live and thrive. It is my hope that all the hope and prosperity that it has to offer can one day be shared equitably with all who live here.

As far as the economy is concerned, I must say that the prices of goods and services far outweigh the salaries that long-time locals receive. This leaves a lot to be desired. This is definitely a town of the haves and the have nots. And this pertains to everything that is for purchase, especially for food that reflect the highest prices imaginable. Yet salaries remain low.

I am not against change, but I do want to see it done fairly. Redistricting should not benefit one specific group, while overlooking the needs of others. Redistricting should be unbiased based on the premise of one for all, and all for one. I am for fair Redistricting.

Of cultural interest is the Glynn County Veterans Memorial Park located in downtown Brunswick with granite markers that have the names of many Black Glynn County Veterans who lost their lives defending our country engraved on them. We also have organizations such as the 100 Black Men of Glynn County that offers mentoring and leadership to young Black youth. There are a few more, and we are thankful for them.

My community is made of what I choose to call a rainbow of people. We are a diverse group striving to work together for the betterment of everyone around us and also for those in neighboring areas.

As far as the economy goes... it could be better.

Presently it is easy to see the disparity between various neighborhoods in Glynn County. Specifically, there is the downtown area of Brunswick with a dire need of resources, and then there is the wealthy Island area that seems to be suffering for nothing. There is no way of knowing whether Redistricting will be beneficial, or not to the neighborhoods that need help the most. However, right now, I will say that it could not get any worse. All we want is to be treated fairly in the Redistricting process and for leaders to show concern for people in all communities, and not for just a select few.

My community is made of a mixture of low-income to middle-income people. There are a few retired individuals and a few who maintain daily occupations. While it is easy to see that work needs to be done here to make things better, I also know that we are working on it and if we continue to pull together, we will definitely reach our goals.

Good paying jobs are scarce here. While people can find employment if they want it, the problem is that the pay is not equitable with the work that is required. This is a town that offers a $4.95 1-scoop of ice cream at the local Dunkin Donuts located near the college. While their drive-thru stays packed, many locals cannot afford the luxury of shopping there. Sadly, this is only 1 example of the very high prices of goods and services in this entire town. Yes, we need good paying jobs, and we need them now.

Although new to my community, I feel that mine is made of a very diversified group of individuals. From observation I am able to determine that we have a mixture of retirees, and the working class (with some teleworking), Also a lot of young families dot the area. This is a nice place to live, and I look forward to getting to know my neighbors much better. It is my opinion that we would not derive any benefit from having our community broken up by Redistricting. I feel that if we can stick together, there is a greater chance that we will be able to accomplish many positive goals that are already in the works.

It is very visible to see that many businesses in the area are under-staffed. Along with that problem, those workers who are actually showing up for work seem to not care about their positions. I specifically speak of the very terrible customer service I have received at several businesses. It is evident that just to survive, many people are taking low paying jobs that they are unhappy with. The economy is not good here and has a very long way to go in order to keep people off unemployment.

My community needs more jobs and better pay. As leaders go forward, they need to focus on making life not just a survival quest for citizens, but a life that is economically equitable to the work employers expect from them. We need leaders who will take our well-being into consideration. Finally, we need to be able to select and vote for those who will treat us as their equals. Riceboro is a very historic area. It is the oldest existing city in Liberty County and derives its name from being the home of successful rice plantations. It is also a part of the Hinesville-Ft. Stewart community. It also has deep roots in the slave trade.

My rural community has a population that is a majority of people of color. Many individuals have lived here all their lives and so did their fathers and forefathers.

Environmentally we have a chemical plant and a paper plant in our very small community. While their presence cause concerns to all of us who call this home, they also are the largest employers in the area.
Community Needs and Concerns
The needs of my community are many. I must add that the four things any community needs in order to survive and thrive are the following: a hospital to heal the people, schools to educate the people, banks to finance the people, and grocery stores to feed the people. Again, our needs are many. However, at this time we are very concerned with Redistricting as we hope that we will not be broken apart and that the progress we have made so far will not be destroyed. If we can stay together, the 4 things that we need may just possibly be in our future.

Both culturally and historically there is a roadside monument sign that depicts history of General Sherman's march through this area during his march to Atlanta. Another marker is located at Little Ogeechee Church. We also have the Black historic St. Johns Missionary Baptist Church. And let's not forget that the present City Hall building was formerly a bank,circa 1773.

My small rural community is made of a diverse population. The majority of the people who live here are retirees. At times we have a few young families with children moving in as renters, but it is almost always a very temporary occurrence. While small and rural, my desire is that my community is treated fairly in the Redistricting process.

There is no industry to speak of in this small community with the exception of the small 1-room post office..
Community Needs and Concerns
The entire intersection that has one flashing traffic light needs to be revamped. Since residents have to travel to either Sylvania or Statesboro for necessities such as access to medical services, shopping for food, gas for their cars and all other necessities. It would definitely be a plus to have at least some of those services closer to where we live. I want to see fair Redistricting of my community so there will be a chance of us getting some of the life necessities that we deserve.

Black culture is alive and well in this City and is steadily growing. It is greatly exhibited in our historic churches and colleges, one of which is SSU.

My community is majority of people who are retirees. However, there is a sprinkling of young working adults. It is also a mixture of homeowners and renters. This neighborhood was designed to accommodate Black WWII veterans and their families. It is recognized as one of the first Black occupied sub-divisions with single-standing houses in this country. It received accreditation as a historical property in 2016. Now with the current building of the nearby Enmark Center Sports Arena, my community faces regentrification and the face of the neighborhood is changing. It is my hope that Redistricting will be fair, giving us the power to elect leaders who will look out for us.

Residents in my community are gainfully employed as teachers, policemen, healthcare workers, lawyers, and with many of them having retired from those professions.

Bush Mountain like many other neighborhoods was fairly segregated until the 1950s and 60s when white flight started to occur but has been mainly isolated from the rest of Atlanta for some time. It has had problems with getting the resources it needs in order to thrive as a community and has often been known to get basic materials well after the rest of the city does such as paved roads and mailboxes in front of houses.

Namely the West Atlanta Watershed Alliance, my service site, has been of service to the greater Bush Mountain Area and the surrounding West Atlanta areas since 1995 providing environmental clean up and justice for the community as well as getting the youth involved into environmental sustainability as POC. The Harnett School is also a big site within the Bush Mountain community as it was the first elementary school to be built inside the community African American children could attend. It first opened its doors in 1935.

The original Madea's House from the Tyler Perry films of his earlier movies is on the corner of Oakland Dr and Avon Ave and has been the biggest form of tourist attraction. Culturally, this main street in my community is an example of all the streets and boulevards across America that are named after Martin Luther King, Jr. From observation, I feel it is hard to find one of them that he would be proud of bearing his name. While this area is home to many, it is in great need of much attention, which is being ignored by the leaders of this city.

My community members are those of the working class. And most of them have small children.

It is very hard to find jobs within this city, resulting in people being forced to drive great distances in order to seek gainful employment. We are in need of jobs, and they should be jobs that pay a decent salary for the work performed. For years this city has had a depressed economy, as evidenced by all the vacant storefronts along Main Street.

My diverse community is a mixture of all types of people who have varying income brackets. It was once all Black. However, the present trend is that of people moving from such high-priced areas as Buckhead coming into the neighborhood and renovating abandoned properties to bring them up to a new level. Sadly, very high fences and guard dogs indicate that these property owners are not here as real community members. The only advantage is that the surrounding property values are going up. Thanks for that.

Culturally and historically, I am in the midst of many Black and White congregation churches that are over 150 years old. One such church, Springhead UMC is right up the road from me. And it has a very active membership of people who are the grandchildren and great grandchildren of its founders. Not much changes here, and I feel that is a good thing to say. However, the cotton, peanut, and corn crops that were in the past farmed by workers are now being taken care of by machinery.

This is a great community that is made of people who are mostly related to me, or to each other. The majority of us have lived in this very peaceful rural area for many years. As for me, I was born in a house that is still family owned and located up the road less than a half mile from where I presently preside. There are many retirees all around me, but there are also a few people who still work. I am happy to call this community my home.

Economically, everyone here seems to be holding his and her own. And those who might find themselves in need can rest assured that they can depend upon their neighbors to come to their rescue.

Culturally we have the Averitt Theatre, Annual Kiwanis Fair, and First Friday Events that are held downtown on the first of each month. We are also home to GSU and other colleges.

My community right at the Bulloch County Line is one that is very diverse. Residents occupy both homes and apartments. Many of the families here have school-age children. And we are located in close proximity to Bulloch Academy. It is easy to say that every person cares about the welfare of the other. And that has been greatly demonstrated throughout this pandemic.

I feel that the local economy is greatly suffering due to the pandemic., which is leaving many businesses short-staffed. Although surprising to hear, there are some others refusing to give employees time off when they are notified that they've tested positive for COVID. That in turn is causing people to quit those jobs as they seek proper healthcare. Presently, people are afraid and that is rightfully so.

Presently, there is a need for more leadership involvement in the fight against the spread of COVID. People need both information and free masks. Besides that, we need better roads in the County areas, and the availability of home improvement loans. It is my hope that the Redistricting process will not unfairly divide my community so as to make it ineffective towards choosing its representatives.

My community is bookmarked by Greenbriar Mall and Camp Creek Marketplace as our two main shopping hubs. It is also a historically Black community, and we're often forgotten about, especially in the Atlanta part of it because we're not close to where the Beltline is.

We need more healthy food options--even in our Kroger, the produce is generally older/less fresh than in Krogers that are more intern, like the Glenwood Kroger and the Ponce de Leon Kroger. We also need more activities--our movie theater closed some years ago, reopened briefly, and closed again, which is a travesty to me with our close proximity to Tyler Perry Studios. We also need sidewalks gravely, particularly in areas between Marta bus stops so that residents don't have to walk in the street from their apartment complex to the bus stop.

We chose the Savannah historic district so that we could enjoy restaurants, concerts, plays with our friends. Most of our friends live in the downtown area. We love being close to all activities. There is a huge diversity downtown, students, tourists, retired residents and working people. That provides us with lots of different activities. The local parades and races come right by our house.
Community Activities and Services
We love living in the downtown district so that we are close to and in walking distance of our church. During the holidays there are many activities and extra concerts at church that we enjoy attending. We also have 3 grandsons that live on Wilmington Island. We love going to their school activities and to their sports activities. They also love coming downtown. We usually host a huge St Patrick’s party for friends and family.
Economic or Environmental Interests
We are interested in a balance between the tourism of Savannah and the comfort of the residents in the downtown area. Traffic, safety, and noise levels are a major concern. We are interested in maintaining a healthy shopping area on Broughton Street. We are anxious for the Broughton Street beautification to be finished.

My urban community is mostly made of senior citizens who are on a fixed income. This is a good place to live because we are near almost everything that people need from day to day. There is the mall right down the street, many doctor offices are very close by, and the local hospital is only minutes away. Also in the vicinity is the newly built local Senior Citizens' Center. We are surrounded by many services that make life easier and more fulfilled.

I am retired and on a fixed income that provides for my needs. But I do know from talking with others that there are a lot of jobs in the area. It seems there are more jobs than people wanting them. I guess that is because of the low pay. Prices are very high, but the pay remains low. Something needs to be done about that. Last week my cousin bought a one scoop cone of ice cream from Dunkin Donuts that cost $4.50. That is a shame.

We are located in the Historic District of Savannah GA. Restoration of homes and interest in or frustrations with historic preservation are common points of interest. Also residents are are concerned about tourism and residential life issues. Additionally neighbors treasure the walkable city lifestyle Savannah provides which makes festivals, concerts and musical events, shopping, running errands, eating out and entertainment within walkable distance from our homes.

My community is centered around Washington Square in Savannah GA. It is a frequent gathering spot for neighbors to come together to exchange news, share a drink or play croquet. It also acts as a hub for drawing additional neighbors living in Green, and Warren Squares. Many neighbors are also members of a variety of local churches and golf clubs, which also extends the community on an individual basis.
Economic or Environmental Interests
Most residents are retired and many are transplants from Northern States. We are concerned about environmental pollution from the cargo ships coming and going from the port, noise pollution and littering associated with the tourism industry. We are located on the highest point of the city and so flooding is rarely a problem in our neighborhood but we are concerned about flooding in neighborhoods and roads to the south of the Historic District as well as in the marshes surrounding the city.

Our district includes many homeless people and we are concerned that there are not enough resources available to them. We are also very concerned with childhood poverty and hunger. Many neighbors volunteer weekly at the Emmaus House feeding site as well as at Kid's café where we assemble thousands of afterschool meals a day.

What is needed most in my community is greater visibility of signs that protect our children from speeding traffic. More signs with a lowered speed limit, signs notifying drivers that children are in the area, and the installation of more speed bumps would go a long way in promoting safety for our children. The kids in our neighborhood all go to Fernbank Elementary School and Druid Hills middle and high school.

Located in close proximity to Interstate 75 and a state road. There are lots of warehouses for jobs. But not a lot of professional jobs. It has a Farmers Market but not much healthy food options.

Needs more professional jobs in community. Need more entertainment options. Need more healthy food options and grocery stores. Need more recreational activities for all ages. Need to maintain affordable housing. Housing needs to be brought up to code.

Historically, for 116 years, The Ogeechee Church of God In Christ has remained an important part of many of our lives. You might say that it and other historical churches in the area is the glue that holds us together.

My rural community is made of a diverse group of individuals and I am happy to say that our goal is to treat each other fairly and with respect. For many years the majority of us have lived here together, and those who are not biologically related, treat others as if they are. This is a caring community of both retirees and currently employed people who know each other very well, and are concerned about each other's welfare.
Economic or Environmental Interests
Residents of our area recently defeated plans for a proposed landfill that was to be erected in our community. This shows what positive things can be accomplished when people stick together for a common good. Economically, there are many jobs being offered, but few takers. These jobs are not in the immediate rural area, but in the cities of Sylvania and neighboring Statesboro.
Community Needs and Concerns
I feel that our community is doing pretty good. However, having a grocery story would be a plus. Also we are very comfortable with how our district lines are presently drawn and do not want to see them broken up.

Presently our economy suffers for a lack of workers. It is possible that the low pay being offered for the work required is serving as an obstacle for people who wish to become gainfully employed.

The needs of my community are many. However, to name a few: Family Life Center, Battered Women's Shelter, and Low Income Housing. I must add that I feel that our present district lines are fine as they are, and I do not want to see them changed through the Redistricting process.

Very often, we may have social activities at the McDonough square. The parks I frequent are Alexander Park-West, and the park near Veterans Drive in McDonough. I shop for groceries in Kroger's on Jonesboro Road, Walmart near Willow Lane, and Publix off of Hwy 81. I purchase gifts and other miscellaneous items off Jonesboro Road in the Target, Home Depot, HomeGoods, Ross shopping center. I attend church at Shiloh Baptist Church on Macon Street. I frequent the VA clinic and Hospital on Eagles Landing Drive. I purchase coffee from the Starbuck's on Jonesboro Road and Eagles Landing Drive. I attend school board meetings off Zack Hinton Hwy.

We need a Boys and Girls Club or YMCA in our area. We need Marta transportation (Rail and Bus) in our area because of the congested traffic in my community. Tractor trailer rigs consume our interstate on a daily basis. We need repaved and wider roads in my community.

Lynwood Park is my community, and we are a historically black neighborhood that served Oglethorpe and the wealthier white Brookhaven estates. This area had a black school located in what is now Lynwood Park Recreation Center. Since then, much of the neighborhood has gentrified and many of the original families have moved out. However, we are still a community that lives and plays together at our local schools, the rec center, etc.
Community Activities and Services
Our neighborhood backs up to Oglethorpe University and most of us shop at our local Costco and Publix at Town Brookhaven. We have a 3 historically black churches within our community. We also have Lynwood Recreation Center and Park where lots of us go to swim, play tennis, shoot some hoops, walk, etc.
Economic or Environmental Interests
People in this neighborhood come from many different walks of life and industries. We are probably one of the more economically diverse areas around, but that is quickly changing.
Community Needs and Concerns
One of the most important things to our community is affordable housing since so many people from this neighborhood have been displaced by gentrification. In addition, our infrastructure lags behind other areas of Brookhaven because we were a historically underprivileged area. That means our streets are more narrow, there are fewer connection points between our neighborhood and others, and we frequently lose power.

With a University at the center of town, there are many resources available to students, but those are not necessarily reflective of what is available to the surrounding community.

The University of Georgia is a major source of employment in my community. However, housing prices and wages for University workers are not aligned and housing is inflated by the student housing community.

The area is historically noted for the Seclusaval and Windsor Spring Property that was built in 1843. It is associated with the Windsor Spring Water Company that sold water from its spring. Presently, it has a short intact part of historic unpaved Tobacco Road which connected the Savannah River docks to the big tobacco plantations.

My community is mostly made of people who are retired military and other retirees. We are a close knit community with many people having known each other for many years. We are situated near many conveniences that include hospital, airport, schools, and resources for seniors.

Economically the area presents a decent income to individuals. There are quite a few available jobs per the Help Wanted signs that are almost in front of every business.

I feel that what is most needed in this community is a good family sit-down restaurant. Also right now some districts are split and I hope that Redistricting will bring them back together in a fair manner that is beneficial to the people who reside here.

The Dorchester School is of historic significance. During the 1960s it had an attached boarding house, and that is where Martin Luther King stayed while he wrote his "I Have A Dream" speech. That part of the structure is now a museum.

People in my community are very much involved in civic engagement. The entire county has a history of being one of the most affluent counties during the 1960s that was involved in civic matters. Presently, not as many individuals are as socially involved as they were in the past. However, we are fortunate to have individuals who are working tirelessly as they put forth efforts to bring about a positive difference in the immediate area, and its relationship to the surrounding communities.
Economic or Environmental Interests
Ft. Stewart Army Base is part of the local economy. Also there are 2 paper mills in Riceboro that provide a few jobs for local residents. Along with the meager paying jobs, they also bring a large degree of air pollution and deforestation. Additionally, there are only a few low paying service jobs available to Blacks in the community. In search of better pay and benefits, many people travel to Savannah or other cities. The major problem for many concerning that option is that not everyone owns a vehicle. Many high school graduates hasten to depart for areas that offer better opportunity and that is another deficit for our community.
Community Needs and Concerns
Our rural community definitely needs a Senior Citizens' Center and other resources that would be available to them. There is also a need for resources for children, and a better means of dealing with the ever growing homeless population. Overall, there are many existing needs in my community that if met, would greatly enhance the lives of all citizens of Liberty County. I do not want to see Redistricting break up our community, as we now have the ability to stick together and choose leaders who would effectively have our best interest on their radar.

Both culturally and historically, I am working with the organization, Wreaths Across America that will provide Christmas wreaths for all 14 veteran's graves that are in our historic Charlestown United Methodist Church cemetery. I am also working with the VFW to get new flags installed at the same graves, in honor of our many former church members who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

My community is made of people who I have have mostly known all my life. It is a diversified rural community where people are happy to lend a helping hand to each other. Recently, we had an overwhelming response from people who helped with summer youth programs. This is a good place to live and we look forward to voting for leaders who share our core values. I would hate to see our community broken apart by the Redistricting process.

Presently many wooded areas are being deforested. And after the trees are gone, the land is not being cultivated into something that is beneficial for the community. It is easy to see this as a threat to our environment.

Historically, Carver Heights, named after George Washington Carver, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019. It was once the largest individually owned housing development for people of color in the world. The memories of the military's 1950s Mosquito Experiment still haunts many long time residents.
Community Activities and Services
My community is made of a diverse group of people. It was originally a predominately Black community that was built by the Army Corps of Engineers in the late 1940s as housing opportunities for returning Black veterans of WWll. The area is presently undergoing many changes that center around the original property owners dying and their heirs selling out. In turn, many of the properties have become rentals with those individuals not having any vested pride in the area. The new Savannah Sports Arena is being built in the immediate area and with it comes further change that promises to negatively affect the historic value of the nationally proclaimed historic community.
Economic or Environmental Interests
It is expected that the property value of all Carver Heights homes will continually escalate as the new Sports Arena nears completion. Presently, many buyers are descending upon residents in search of a willing seller who will sell low so the buyer will be positioned to make a huge profit. The development of the Arena & Canal District will definitely change the face of Carver Heights.

The community needs a school, and Black business opportunities. While it is not the perfect place, it is a good district with a rich history that has the ability to create change by allowing residents to vote for and elect leaders who care about the community. We want to keep our district the way it is!

CSU has long been a commuter school but has slowly transitioned into being a hybrid school where many kids still live off-campus but many still live there as well.
Community Activities and Services
I attended CSU. CSU serves as the main educational body throughout the entire southwest portion of Georgia. It is also a hub of services for students such as medical services and other things.
Economic or Environmental Interests
The mall, CSU itself, and surrounding businesses are the main source of employment for students. In addition, the beltline trail is a huge environmental boon for our community as are the local parks.

This community is located in a historically farming area. For many years people sharecropped, or worked as hired hands for local landowners. Now the area has taken on an urban flavor as it has developments with a diversity of people. However, the cottonfields still line the landscape, but nobody picks it anymore.
Community Activities and Services
I am new to this community but a life-long resident of Statesboro. I have many relatives and friends who live here in in surrounding areas. We are mainly socially held together through our fellowship in various churches. Personally, I feel that ours is a very close-knit faith community. From this area we have access to a hospital, various shopping areas and services, a local mall, and GSU. This is a good place to live. I feel that our districts are good as they are. Our present districts give us hope for the future as we see ourselves voting for people who have our best interest at heart.
Economic or Environmental Interests
Economically, there are many jobs for anyone who is seeking employment. But the wages are still below national standards. We have the colleges that provide great educations. But as soon as local people graduate, they head for areas that offer better opportunities.
Community Needs and Concerns
Something needs to be done that will attract bigger business that offers better paying salaries to the area. Also there is always a need for more services that will make the lives of senior citizens better. There is also a need for a transportation system that will connect the rural with the urban areas.

There are many historical locations throughout Statesboro. One of note is the past home and first hospital of pioneer physician, Dr. Harvey Van. He was the first Black doctor in Statesboro in 1918.
Community Activities and Services
My community is made of working class people who do our best to take care of our environment. Not only are we concerned about our own families, we are also concerned about each other. We are located within walking distance to downtown Statesboro and many local churches. We are also only a few minutes drive to the local hospital, colleges, and shopping malls. This is a good area to live in. We are now seeing the power of our vote, and we do not want our districts broken up by Redistricting.

While at this time there appears to be many jobs available, the pay is not what it should be. Our community needs better paying jobs!
