Community Activities and Services
We live, bike, and walk in the community around La Grande Orange and Ingo's. We play at Kachina Park, get coffee at LGO, and splurge for dinner at North.
Community Needs and Concerns
Our community cares about sustainable growth, as we have established homes that are being remodeled. We appreciate new businesses but want to maintain our ranch-style homes. We are afraid that splitting this community with another legislative district jutting into our neighborhood will dilute our community voice. The block of 32nd Street to 40th Street and Camelback to Campbell should be in the new District 4.

Cultural or Historical Interests
I live near and enjoy the Arizona Canal, Camelback Mountain and the Piestewa Peak Preserve areas. Many times we need to protect our neighborhoods and the access we enjoy to these areas. I mention 2 examples of this. 1) Recently the City of Phoenix has been working on a huge water pipe project that was initially slated to go thru a more pristine trail access and trail of the Mountain Preserve near Piestewa Peak. The surrounding neighborhood, the regular users of the area trails and people who value all the Mountain Preserves were able to raise up together to protect the Mountain Preserve and convince the City of Phoenix to reroute the water pipe project and not disturb the more pristine area
Community Activities and Services
My community is joined together by the Phoenix Mountain Preserve and the nearby section of the Arizona Canal. This area includes Piestewa Peak, and Camelback Mountain. The Mountain Preserve areas and the canals are used by walkers, runners, and bikers who use the areas for recreation. It also includes people who live in the area partly because they love to view and be near the Mountain Preserve areas when they are home and in their neighborhood. My community includes neighborhoods including Biltmore, Arcadia, and much more.
Economic or Environmental Interests
Many of us including me live in the area because we enjoy living close these Mountain Preserves in the areas and the Arizona Canal. The Mountain Preserves should be a collective group, and not be divided up into separate districts.

Economic or Environmental Interests
The area around the Phoenix Light Rail system in downtown Phoenix should not be broken up into two different legislative districts (currently in D1 and D11.) The people and businesses surrounding light rail all have a strong interest in maintaining and promoting the success of public transportation, and should have a unified voice for this perspective in the legislature.
Community Needs and Concerns
There is a large community of people living along the Phoenix Light Rail system who rely on public transportation to get to work, school, the airport, and more. This community includes disabled people who are unable to use other forms of transportation including a car.

Economic or Environmental Interests
Small businesses prevail in this area, taking advantage of the already-established infrastructure and quaint older structures that are often re-purposed. We have restaurants in old post offices and event venues in renovated buildings.
Community Needs and Concerns
While parts of this area have a Scottsdale address, there are no similarities to the new gated developments, new strip malls, and large development of North Scottsdale. Each has it's charm, but representing both types of communities at the same time would be a difficult-to-impossible task.

My Community of Interest is Scottsdale. For years Scottsdale district has been included with Fountain Hills. Scottsdale is a metropolitan community, more part of greater Phoenix then suburban bedroom community. Scottsdale is much more than a tourist town to residents we work, shop and dine in Scottsdale, not Fountain Hills. We have a very large business community including a health care industry recognized worldwide. This district is not competitive. There are very few people representing the Hispanic community in this district. My map includes South Scottsdale instead of the very homogenous community of Fountain Hills. My map is much more competitive, fair and represents my community.

All members of our family not only hike regularly in the vast preserves surrounding us, but also work in Phoenix. Our social, cultural, and recreational activities are tied to our memberships at the Phoenix Art Museum, the Heard Museum, the Arizona Science Center, the Phoenix Zoo, the Arizona Opera and our support of the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Diamondbacks. Cultural or Historical Interests
Our prized neighborhood guards against indiscriminate development that does not focus on preserving the qualities that make this area that make it special. 2-story homes can threaten our mountain views and commercial development should remain family and service-oriented.
Community Activities and Services
Our community, including the Associations of Marion Estates, Heritage Hills, Rancho Marizona and Short Hills, is described as "A quiet mid-century neighborhood in the middle of it all." Established over 60 years ago, we are nestled between Camelback Mountain and the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. Our families are uniquely situated to take advantage of hiking the mountains and also walking to our neighborhood restaurants including Vincent's, North, and Chelsea's Kitchen. We drink coffee at LGO and ride the canal to The Biltmore. Our kids go to school in Phoenix (Hopi, Ingleside, Arcadia) or at the adjacent Phoenix Country Day School. We work out at The Village and shop at AJs.
Economic or Environmental Interests
We are surprised that our urban, Phoenix neighborhoods have been added to a legislative district that includes the neighboring town of Scottsdale as well as exurbs of Fountain Hills, Cave Creek, and beyond into Tonto National Forest. We are focused on the city of Phoenix issues. Our geographic economic interests do not extend to tourism, casinos, or large-scale housing developments.
Community Needs and Concerns
We would like our community to stay within a Phoenix legislative district, as it has been for the past 20 years. We would best be represented by someone who, like us, chose to live in the 4th largest city in the country, in an established neighborhood that is identified by our Phoenix mountains.

Community Activities and Services
The community that I have outlined, represents a great deal of recreational activities around the North Central Mountain Preserve and abutting resorts. The community has many varied houses of worship, and a high number of public schools.

Community Needs and Concerns
The community needs to stay within the boundaries that provide the access to the social services provided in the Sunnyslope area, the south-most point should stay together so that the Jewish community can walk to and from their Synagogues. To the north, the Paradise Valley corridor needs to stay together because of the P.V. mall and adjoining shopping corridor.

It is an area that draws residents from all sides of the mountains who have common interests to the preserves and the public policy that governs the area. It is an area for family gathering, recreation, eco-adventuring, and fitness. In addition, a great number of churches and synagogues border the perimeter and draw worshipers from all sides. This includes the neighborhoods of Sunnyslope, Shadow Mountain, East Phoenix, and Paradise Valley.
Economic or Environmental Interests
The Preserves were recently thrust into the spotlight when a large water main infrastructure project was to run through the center of the mountains. By having a common legislative team, the surrounding neighborhoods were able to work with state legislators and city officials to reroute the water main. The neighborhoods of Sunnyslope, Shadow Mountain, East Phoenix, and Paradise Valley respectfully request that a common legislative district be formed to serve this community of interest.

Hidden Valley, Arizona

Cultural or Historical Interests
We are a rural community. Most homes are on 3 or more acres of land. We used to have dirt roads (and most people preferred them). Since the roads were paved, many homes now flood when it rains. We speak a mish-mash of English, Spanish and Spanglish--sometimes in the same household. Most people are newer in the community, but there are a few members who have been here for over 40 years. Most people have livestock and raise animals for consumption or buy from neighbors who do. We have a culture of rescuing animals dumped by "city folk" and most families have many dogs and cats, both inside and out. Many exceed the county limitation on animals, but most animals are well cared for.
Community Activities and Services
My community generally does not gather, but when we do, we usually go to the Volunteer Fire Station or Raceway Bar and Grill. We are fiercely independent. Those who seek services generally go to the Phoenix area or Casa Grande. We have no food delivery services that serve our area. We have no community transportation, and our local non-profit is the Church on Papago's food delivery service (or Stanfield First Baptist's food delivery and community health care services).
Economic or Environmental Interests
Most residents either work in agriculture or commute to Phoenix, 45 miles away. There are teachers, business owners, accountants, custodial staff, and many other jobs represented in our community. We're more tied by our love of space and the rural lifestyle. We resent the encroachment of many planned "communities" being dumped in our community by the county and city. We want to preserve our rural, agricultural way of life. We are fighting development and a freeway and are worn thin on both fronts. Most are picking up and moving further out, not realizing the problems, if not stopped, will continue until there is no more agricultural land and we are no longer a self-sufficient country.
Community Needs and Concerns
My community circles the City of Maricopa. It includes the unincorporated towns of Stanfield and Mobile. We would like to be uncoupled with LD 11 which puts us at the disadvantage of voting against the denser population of the city and coupled with our rural neighbors. We would like to be able to vote with one voice and be heard rather than split into various districts and "diluted." My last map did not save correctly: We go from the 238 in the N to a wee bit S of I-8. We go from Mobile, S along the Haley Hills and Vekol Mountains to I-8. On the E side we go from Stanfield, N to the Ak-Chin Reservation and N along Ralston to the 238.

Cultural or Historical Interests
Tempe has a diverse population and includes economically challenged and economically privileged neighborhoods. Residents represent the world population and our public schools accommodate several different languages while assimilating our new neighbors. Tempe continues to work with the native populations in Guadalupe and Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Communities.
Community Activities and Services
My community is a cultural and economic engine for Maricopa county. Tempe Town Lake is the beginning of the Rio Salado Restoration project to expand recreation opportunities, replenish habitat for native species and reclaim valuable property for affordable housing and business. Tempe residents meet their shopping needs for groceries and all other items locally. Tempe is the home to AZ Sate University and Rio Salado Community College, while being close to Mesa Community College. Tempe leads in Public Transportation with Light Rail and will connect passenger rail to Tucson.
Economic or Environmental Interests
Tempe is landlocked and is actively working to create room for additional families and businesses by building in and building up in a planned and managed fashion to mitigate environmental, cultural and economic harm. Our city is wrapped in connector freeway links that enhance our economy but also add to the particulate air quality/pollution problem in Maricopa County. Tempe Town lake is the #2 destination in AZ. Tempe's link to PHX Airport, Papago Park, Papago Golf Course, PHX Muni Stadium, PHX Zoo, Pueblo Grande and Grady Gammage Auditorium make it a major economic engine for the entire Metro-PHX region.
Community Needs and Concerns
Tempe has 3 public school districts that perform at an A+ status for our children and families. We don't want our public dollars siphoned off to support Charter and Private Schools. Tempe continues to work on Sustainability Programs for neighborhoods, businesses and public institutions. We vote for public safety and support our first responders through bond initiatives on a regular basis. Tempe continues to address the growing homeless population in a strategic and humane manner. There is a need for affordable-workforce housing so that our school and public employees can live close to where they work, as our neighbors. We are fortunate to have an electorate that supports COMMUNITY.

Much of this COI lives among the saguaros, javelinas, and wildlife that are unique to this part of the country. They matter to us personally. As do our horses - they are part of our lives (even for those who don't own them) and certainly part of our heritage. There are ancient ruins, abandoned mines, and still the feel of the desert which is largely lost as you go south of this COI. On the flip side, we consider ourselves part of the broader Phoenix metropolitan area, interested in the Valley's news and enjoying access to all its amenities yet able to live daily in our own slightly-rural world.
Community Activities and Services
Our main activities: outdoors! Hiking, horseback riding, golfing, off-roading, cycling, and/or motorcycling. Many horse properties throughout this area, plus parks and undeveloped land for recreating. Shopping: mainly from Cave Creek & Carefree west & south down to Norterra, south to Desert Ridge near the 101 and down Scottsdale Rd to Mayo Blvd & Bell Rd. We go to movie theaters & restaurants in Norterra, Desert Ridge, or on Bell Rd & Mayo Blvd. Healthcare: most all of our doctors, dog vets, horse vets, & healthcare services are in this COI. Virtually no public transportation in this COI. Cave Creek is an entertainment destination for many in this COI & beyond.
Economic or Environmental Interests
Economic: almost all economic needs/interests are met within this COI. Those in the north all go south and west for 95% of goods and services but to go south beyond Bell Rd seems just "too far" for most things. Environmental Interests: Many of us spend much time outdoors and are keenly aware of environmental and climate change issues because we have experienced the changes directly and constantly over the last 10-20 years. We are concerned about the future for our animals, our outdoor activities, even our saguaros and desert wildlife among which we live.
Community Needs and Concerns
Fires - a constant concern. Strong horse community here from all over this COI to help each other evacuate horses - this is needed almost every year. Water - many on wells or hauled water. Most of this COI is zero-scaped or undeveloped. Diversity - The northern & southern parts of this COI need each other for diversity in age, race, ethnicity, and politics. Competitiveness - NONE in the northern parts of this COI. Northern Dems in this COI have not had any chance at being represented in the 17 years I've lived here. Absolutely no shared interests with Anthem or Yavapai County - with whom the northern parts of this COI are enslaved together in one Legislative District. Please fix this!

Cultural or Historical Interests
Marana began as a ranching and agriculture community that bonded around the community mindedness of a couple of women. We have established a park with a education walk that explains about our history and local service clubs financed a history bus that brings our history to schools.
Community Activities and Services
Marana is a pleasingly diverse that has low income housing and million dollar mansions. We have a very active chamber of commerce and our own health care network. Our schools are very good with more recently built. We incorporated multiple parks into development and hold many community events. We are also closely affiliated with Tucson and the University of Arizona for our culture.
Economic or Environmental Interests
Marana has had very good governance that has allowed it diverse economic growth. We have an outlet mall, a Costco and a Ritz Carlton. Our tourism has expanded to include a premier dude ranch. Plans are to make Marana a shipping hub with expansion of an airport and a possible rail switching facility. At that same time we are bordered in state mountains parks.
Community Needs and Concerns
Currently we and our neighbors in Oro Valley represent only 15.3% of Congressional District 1. We have to compete and a majority rural and tribal district. Our legislative district spans little of our Pima county and most of Pinal county which borders on Phoenix. Again we have very little in common. Our newspaper, radio and television channels are Tucson based. More importantly, Pinal and Pima counties have handled water issues differently. When the water shortage happens we would be better off in Pima county which is more urban than competing with agriculture and mining water interests.

Economic or Environmental Interests
Education & Healthcare are two of the main areas of jobs in the Prescott/Quad City area. There are 3 Colleges in Prescott, Az (Prescott College, Embry Riddle College& Yavapai Community College). YRMC and Dignity Health are 2 of the main healthcare providers. Also, the Outdoors and environmental activities are popular due to the many lakes, nearby national forests and the Historic Granite Dells which are located in or near Prescott.
Community Needs and Concerns
The Prescott and Quad city area has almost no public transportation. This is badly needed. Also, many citizens are concerned the area is being over developed, resulting in traffic congestion and concerns of available water for the future. So Water and unrestricted real estate development are major concerns. Affordable housing is a major concern, as well as available jobs. There are 3 colleges in Prescott: Prescott College, Yavapai Community College and Embry Riddle Aeronautical College. It is difficult for students to find affordable housing and after they graduate, they almost always must move elsewhere, for lack of jobs and also lack of affordable housing.

Economic or Environmental Interests
Anthem does not have either heavy or light industry. The service industry is probably the largest employer in our area. Otherwise, many work from home or outside of Anthem.
Community Needs and Concerns
Anthem is part of an Arizona legislative district that spans two counties, Maricopa and Yavapai. Buckeye began as a argriculture community and continues to have large farms growing vegetables and cotton. We depending and immigrant labor to be successful. We have a large latino population. The area along I 10 is quickly filling up with warehouses. Farm land is sprouting houses and family conmmunities. We are also a bedroom community for people who drive to Phoenix to work everyday. The 1 10 plays an important role in the community as we do not have public transportation. There is a bus park and ride about 10 miles from Sundance. We do not have train service in the west valley.
Community Activities and Services
Sundance is a large community South of I10 in Buckeye about 30 miles west of Phoenix. Sundance Active Adults Village is an age restricted community of about 2000 people. It is surrounded by a larger coummunity which welcomes people of all ages. Many families have children who attend schools in the Buckeye school district. Shopping in Buckeye is limited. There are several groceries stores and dollar stores but for more shoooing opportunites you have to go east fo Goodyear and Avondale. Buckeye is connected to our sister towns via I10 and also Yuma Road. We have only fast food restaurants in Buckeye. Many residents go to the nicer dining establishment in nearby communities.
Economic or Environmental Interests
Water is our major enviromental interest. Since Buckeye is a farm community there is concern about how this major economic driver will be impacted by potential water restrictions. Also, the fast growing population may have to be restricted due to lack of water for continued growth.
Community Needs and Concerns
Our community is closely connected with Verrado and other communites to the East. I 10 makes is easy to travel to these towns for entertainment, dining, churches, parks and recreation. We also share the benefit of community colleges and charter schools. Current district lines divide us from these communites and combine us with Wickenburg with is 60 miles west, and with Yuma which is 150 miles south. We have no community connection with either of these towns . Since our current district, Ld13, is very far west with lots of unoccupied space to the west it makes sense to combine Buckeye and the communites east of us and not spread us out all over the state.

Economic or Environmental Interests
Tourism is the main basis for the town's economy although many larger stores are have been approved and built on the southern boundary. Land preservation has resulted in our town partnering with other government agencies to purchase Spur Cross Ranch. We also have the Desert Foothills Land Trust. This includes the for profit water mining of our aquafer.
Community Needs and Concerns

I live in a gated community with roughly 25 homes. Several of the homes were built by their residents 20-25 years ago. The residents are primarily white, and when I first moved here in 2016, there were many elderly. Some of their children have taken over their homes, or others have sold their homes to relocate into smaller ones.In 2021 most residents are around middle age, and several (including myself) have children attending college and entering the workforce. The nearby church and schools are other places where people gather and form cultural bonds.
Community Activities and Services
There is a Christ's Church of the Valley (CCV) campus a few blocks away from my home. I attended church here with my kids and have seen other neighbors there.Several schools are within walking distance, including Corona del Sol High School and Kyrene de la Mirada Middle School. Bus service was established along Ray Rd a couple of years ago and has made it easier for my kids and others to travel to school and work.
Economic or Environmental Interests
A lot of residents are in the upper middle-class tax bracket. There is a defunct Intel factory nearby where some still work. There are also a lot of retirees who live in the area. Many local stores, such as Fry's Marketplace, EOS Fitness, etc., employ people of all ages and backgrounds. There is a library within walking distance where a lot of kids hang out after school. My neighborhood features several parks and artificial lakes.
Community Needs and Concerns
My neighborhood and the surrounding community are predominantly white and right-leaning, making it difficult to relate to my neighbors at times. My neighbors are good to talk about politics and their views, but I have not seen much from them in community activism. If they do give time or money to other organizations, they aren't vocal about it.I would like to see more connectivity between my neighbors and surrounding communities when it comes to redistricting.

Residents are interested in preserving open space and the desert. The Desert Foothills Land Trust has preserved 375 acres of desert. Most community members are of Anglo descent, but there is a small Latinx population in Cave Creek. Residents in Cave Creek are a majority senior population, with the median age in Cave Creek being 58 years (2018). Frequent Arts Festivals are held in Cave Creek and Carefree. Cave Creek has a history of a western lifestyle through mining and cattle ranching. Many horse communities are found in Cave Creek and Cave Creek has a yearly parade and rodeo. Carefree was a planned development with the intention of embedding housing within the natural environment.
Community Activities and Services
My community includes the small towns of Cave Creek and Carefree. People gather at local coffee shops, the Desert Foothils Library, local restaurants and bars, area churches, the Holland Center, the YMCA and local organizations, such as the Kiwaniis Club, and the Desert Awareness Committee. The area caters to a large tourist population with many shops and restaurants. The area has no public transportation. There is an urgent care center in Carefree and a medical center is being built in Cave Creek. The Foothills Food Bank serves a population that is food deprived with food boxes, financial assistance and help filing for Food Stamps.
Economic or Environmental Interests
Many residents are retired or work from home. Some residents own small businesses and restaurants in the community. Outside of shops, restaurants and grocery stores, there is little employment in the community. Workers need to go south into Phoenix and Scottsdale for employment. Many of the employees of the area shops/restaurants come into the communities during the day from the Phoenix area, as it is too expensive to live here. Water is a concern, with a number of homes in Cave Creek on wells. Also, there have been conflicts between the two communities over the water company and CAP water.
Community Needs and Concerns
Our communities have nothing in common with Prescott, yet are currently in the same legislative district as Yavapai County. As our communities are dependent economically upon the greater Phoenix/Maricopa area, it would make more sense to have us in a district with the population south of us. We have The Pioneer Village Museum. A National Veterans Monument in our park. The area is relatively new with many housing divisions which encourages young families to move in. We have a large retirement group, too. Our community is mostly white with a pocket of African American, Asian, Eastern European and Latino people. Senior care homes and Assisted living facilities are available.
Community Activities and Services
My community has a community park, center and civic center. Several churches, schools, library, doctors and dental offices, immediate care facility, small businesses and a post office. We have a restaurants, Walmart, grocery stores and shopping areas. There are fitness businesses. Music in May, Anthem Days and Independence Day Celebrations. Fire stations are in the area. There is a Theater in Norterra, south.
Economic or Environmental Interests
We have many people who work out of their homes for various corporations. We have small businesses, shopping area workers, hospital and health care workers, landscaping, plumbing workers, etc.. Gore Industries, USAA corporation, Cigna are in the area and a new semi conductor manufacturing facility to be build. WATER is a major concern and growing traffic up the I-17.
Community Needs and Concerns
Currently we are lumped in the legislative district with Yavapai County which is north of us, and is more rural. The political representatives come from Prescott. We need to be represented by our community needs and people. We need to be redistricted into districts south of us.

Cultural or Historical Interests
We are mostly transplants to Arizona, and most of us are relatively new to our area since this area was not built up until beginning in the early 2000s.
Community Activities and Services
My community is made up of mostly families in middle-to high income range. Our area is very high-growth, with shopping, restaurants, and single-and-multi family housing going in constantly. We live in the desert outside of the city, and are very outdoorsy. Most families have multiple cars and do not use public transport.
Economic or Environmental Interests
We are very interested in making sure we keep a balance between the services we need and maintaining our outdoor desert living.
Community Needs and Concerns
We need services for families, quality education options, and more services and shopping options as our area continues to grow. We do not have much in common with more rural areas around us such as Desert Hills, or Cave Creek. Anthem is a similar community. Other areas that are currently included in our legislative district such as Black Canyon City, Prescott, Prescott Valley and other areas farther from Phoenix have nothing in common with us.

Cultural or Historical Interests
There are many Hispanics and Western Europeans in Nogales over to Sierra Vista. Many people travel to Mexico to visit family. The military base at Fort Huachuca is the most diverse community. All these people are family households of Christian and Catholic denominations. This is an English/Spanish speaking community. Because our families stay together there are a wide variety of ages represented. Many of these families have lived and ranched in the region for over 200 years and travel to Mexico frequently. Many maintain old family businesses.
Community Activities and Services
My community gathers in Nogales, AZ., and socializes at churches and schools in that community. We also gather with others in churches and schools in Sonoita. We shop in Nogales and Sierra Vista and access healthcare at clinics and hospitals in those towns. Our food banks are also in those towns. We are rural and use mainly our own transportation to get around. There are many lakes at which we recreate: Parker lake, Patagonia lake and Pena Blanca lake, and we have our county fair in Sonoita. We travel to Mexico Frequently.
Economic or Environmental Interests
My community works in agriculture, tourism, mining and small businesses across the southern border. Many are working at government border agencies and others in produce and shipping at ports with Mexico. Some young people will leave to work in Tucson for a short time but many return to enjoy the slower paced Christian family lifestyle. We are a proud lower income community that supports each other through family, churches and other local resources. We have a mining industry in Patagonia which is partnered with local Provisional colleges to train mining jobs. Our environmental issue is sewage from Mexico - a Federal Gov. Problem that needs to be resolved.
Community Needs and Concerns
Please keep us out of Tucson. My Hispanic community needs to be with other rural border communities. My rural border town has concerns about border security same as Cochise county. We need strong rural law enforcement. Our youth are enticed to participate in drug and human trafficking crimes in Tucson. Our economy is shrinking due to both US and Mexico policies. We do not share religious and cultural characteristics with "Latinos" in Tucson. We need to have a stronger community connection with other Ports. We need to be able to develop plans with other border towns with our same job training and employment issues, utilizing our community colleges and small businesses.

Economic or Environmental Interests
Many residents own and operate small businesses/shops in our communities. Several residents in Cave Creek work outside the Cave Creek area. Carefree has a large retired population and seasonal residents. Water is of great concern environmentally and politically. There are many private wells in the area some of which have run dry and most others have varying levels of arsenic. Water issues exist between Carefree and Cave Creek re: allocation of CAP water and ownership of the water company. See above for tourism.
Community Needs and Concerns
In Cave Creek and Carefree Republicans outnumber Democrats 3 to 1. Democrats are not in a competitive arena whereby we may potentially elect whom we choose. Alignment of CC and CF with other communities that brings more balance to the distribution of Democratic and Republican voters.

My community is made up of BIPOC populations in Casa Grande. Different populations share languages, traditions, values and culture. We face the common hardship of being underrepresented in government.
Community Activities and Services
My community utilizes the services of the City of Casa Grande. This includes Parks and Recreation, the public libraries, schools and social services. My community accesses these services daily across the city. These services and activities are essential as it is a rural community and people cannot easily access metro area services
Economic or Environmental Interests
My community is located in Rural Arizona. Agriculture and manufacturing are two very important industries to my community. Not only do people depend a lot on these industries, these industries are major employers in this area.
Community Needs and Concerns
My BIPOC community is located in Casa Grande, in Pinal County, and is split between two legislative districts. I do not feel my community should be split. The BIPOC community of Casa Grande spans across the entire city; however, the interests and use of services are very similar. My community needs to be together in one district to ensure fair, equitable and proportional representation.

Economic or Environmental Interests
Residents are employed in industries like construction and retail. A great concern for my community are te rising temperatures especially during the summer and the accompanying rising electric bills.
Community Needs and Concerns
My community is concerned for how they will sustain themselves as the local economy recuperates from covid this past year. Many families’ main providers were laid off or lost their job and grocery store prices around us rose significantly which has made life hard. Immigration and the heightened police presence has always been of concern as well because many are undocumented.

Cultural or Historical Interests
My community is very mixed with a decent share of Latino, African American, and White people. It was traditionally more rural and in the last 15 years has had a lot of new growth. There are a wide variety of churches, one mosque and one temple. There are no synagogues in the area. Most of the new schools are charter schools. Many of the independent restaurants are small mom and pop Mexican food carnicerias and taquerias.
Community Activities and Services
South Mountain Park runs east west and is used for hiking, mountain bike riding and picnicking. My community spans from 35th Ave to 24th St, anchored on the west by Cesar Chavez HS and Park which includes a regional library, golf course, doggie park, soccer & baseball fields. Mostly fast food restaurants. Very little health care. A large number of charter schools and a few public grade schools. On the east end is S. Mtn CC, an LA Fitness and a retail center containing a Fry's and Target.
Economic or Environmental Interests
South Mountain Park anchors the south side of my neighborhood. As you drive north to downtown, there are a lot of industrial facilities along the Salt River and an enormous old landfill at 19th Avenue. There are very few bike lanes which makes any commuting or running of errands by bicycle nearly impossible.
Community Needs and Concerns
This is a rapidly growing area that has a lot of infrastructure needs as well as a lot more retail, employment and entertainment opportunity. It is a lower to middle class area with a few higher end neighborhoods. The agriculture is rapidly being developed and the development needs to be done wisely.

Some families are immigrants from Mexico and a few from other countries in Latin American and also Europe. It's a mixed neighborhood with young families and older retired folks, many current or former military.
Community Activities and Services
Araby is a semi-affluent community on the east edge of the City of Yuma AZ, on a low bluff overlooking the agricultural plain where the Colorado and Gilla Rivers meet. It's within a mile of a high school, junior high, and two elementary schools, Arizona Western College, and branches of the U of AZ and AZ State and Northern AZ U.
